Kathmandu: In a historic move, the Nepal Tourism Board has appointed its first female Secretary. Meelan Devkota has been named as the inaugural female Secretary of the board.

This decision was made during the meeting held on Magh 24, where the board unanimously appointed Devkota to the position of Secretary for a tenure of three months.

Notably, Devkota had previously served as a board member since Baisakh 2079 and also held the distinction of being the first female Budget Coordinator for the fiscal year 2080/81, further emphasizing her significant contributions to the tourism sector.
