Kathmandu: Godavari Municipality has officially canceled the registration of nine cooperative institutions for failing to comply with legal requirements under the Cooperative Act of 2075. The municipality issued an urgent notice warning the public against conducting any financial or other transactions with these deregistered cooperatives.

The cancellation follows repeated failures by these institutions to submit their required reports and complete annual general assembly meetings, as mandated by the law. Despite a 35-day public notice issued in Rajdhani Daily on 15th Poush 2080, only one cooperative responded, while the remaining nine remained unresponsive.

As a result, the Chief Administrative Officer of the municipality, on 27th Baisakh 2081, decided to deregister the following cooperatives:

• Upakar Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltd.
• Anugrah Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltd.
• Namuna Mahila Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltd.
• Hoisar Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltd.
• Phaldayi Agriculture Cooperative Ltd.
• Tika Bhairav Milk Producers Cooperative Ltd.
• Bhugol Agriculture Cooperative Ltd.
• Munal Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltd.
• Rasha Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltd.

The municipality has advised all citizens to refrain from any transactions with these entities and contact the Industry and Cooperative Branch for any further inquiries.
