Kathmandu: Renowned tourism entrepreneur Basanta Mishra passed away on Sunday morning at the age of 71 due to dengue infection. He breathed his last at Norvic Hospital, Thapathali.
According to family sources, his body has been taken to his residence in Kupondole, and the funeral will be held at Pashupatinath Aryaghat later today.
Mishra was a leading figure in Nepal’s tourism industry, contributing significantly to its development. He was the chairman of the Temple Tiger Group of Companies and had been actively involved in the tourism sector since the 1970s.
Mishra was also one of the founding members of the Nepal Tourism Board. Throughout his career, he played a key role in organizing various national and international events to promote Nepal’s tourism industry.
