Kathmandu: The Nepal Electricity Authority has declared a 60-month deadline for the payment of arrears related to dedicated and trunk lines.
In a public notice issued today, the authority urges concerned parties to contact the relevant distribution center within the next 30 days to apply for an installment facility. This initiative stems from a special arrangement made during the board of directors’ meeting on January 16th, allowing for the settlement of outstanding amounts through installments.
Emphasizing that this arrangement is a one-time occurrence, the authority highlights its commitment to facilitating payment for those in arrears. According to the notification, 61 industries currently owe a total of 22.24 billion rupees. As part of enforcing timely payments, the Electricity Authority has taken the step of disconnecting power to 24 industries that have not settled their dues.
