Kathmandu: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has decided that six male cricketers in the ‘A’ category will receive a monthly salary of one lakh under the central agreement. This decision was made in the board meeting held on Monday for the 2024 season, which also included agreements for male and female players. Thirty male and nineteen female players are part of these agreements.
CAN has categorized players into ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’, and Emerging, with separate salary structures. In the ‘A’ category for male players, Rohit Kumar Paudel, Sompal Kami, Karan Kc, Dipendra Singh Airee, Asif Sheikh, and Kushal Bhurtel are the recipients of the one lakh monthly salary.
Similarly, in the ‘B’ category, players like Kushal Malla, Gulshan Jha, Bhim Sarki, Lalit Narayan Rajvanshi, Aarif Sheikh, and Avinash Bohara will receive 70 thousand monthly. The pattern continues with ‘C’ and ‘D’ categories, each having their designated salary figures.
However, for female players, CAN has not achieved salary parity. In the ‘A’ category, Indu Barma, Rubina Kshetri, and Sita Ranamagar will receive 50 thousand, while ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’, and Emerging categories will have varied salaries, ranging from 35 thousand to 20 thousand monthly.
In the Emerging category, players like Soni Pakhrin, Khushi Dangol, Jyotsnika Marasini, Kanchan Shrestha, Ruvi Poudar, Srishti Jaisi, Samjhana Kumari Khadka, and Sana Pravin are set to earn from this central agreement.
