Kathmandu: Commercial banks have published notices announcing the interest rates effective from Bhadra 1. According to the published notices, banks have reduced interest rates for the month of Bhadra as well.
For the month of Bhadra, the average maximum interest rate on individual fixed deposits stands at 6.49%, a decrease of 0.23 percentage points compared to Shrawan. In Shrawan, the average rate was 6.72%. Similarly, the maximum interest rate on institutional fixed deposits has also decreased by 0.24 percentage points.
Out of the 18 banks that published their rates, 13 banks have reduced interest rates, while 4 banks have maintained the same rates as in Shrawan. Only one bank has increased its interest rate.
NIC Asia and NMB Offer Highest Interest Rates
For the month of Bhadra, NIC Asia and NMB Bank are offering the highest interest rates on individual fixed deposits, with a maximum rate of 7.41%. On the other hand, Nepal Bank is offering the lowest rate at 5.25%.
