Kathmandu: After completing a five-day visit to India, Nepal’s Foreign Minister, Arzu Rana Deuba, is set to return home on Thursday. According to her secretariat, she will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport at 4 PM.
Minister Rana embarked on the visit to India last Sunday at the invitation of her Indian counterpart, S. Jaishankar. During her visit, she held meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Foreign Minister Jaishankar, and Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, the head of the BJP’s foreign affairs department, among others.
The discussions centered around Nepal-India relations, with a focus on the multifaceted and diverse aspects of bilateral interests. Key topics included trade, connectivity, air routes, and electricity. However, the long-standing border issues were not addressed in these talks.
Minister Rana’s visit, during which she was accorded respect and importance on par with that of a prime minister, has sparked significant discussion in Nepal’s political circles.
