Tanahun: Siddhartha Group, the largest hospitality chain in Nepal, has expanded its services by opening a new three-star hotel, “Siddhartha Hotel Damauli,” in Damauli, the district headquarters of Tanahun. The hotel was officially inaugurated on Thursday by Vyas Municipality Mayor Baikuntha Nyaupane.
During the inauguration, Mayor Nyaupane highlighted Damauli’s growing development as a tourist city and the increasing investments in the area. He noted that projects like the Vyas–Devghat corridor and the construction of 108 statues are further advancing the city’s tourism potential. He encouraged investors to consider Damauli as a business-friendly environment with immense potential for further development.
Nyaupane also emphasized that the establishment of a three-star hotel in Damauli is a significant milestone, as locals previously had to travel to Bandipur or Pokhara for similar services. He expressed optimism about the hotel’s role in supporting Damauli’s development and noted the need for more infrastructure investments in the region.
The hotel, operated under the “Siddhartha Batika” brand by Siddhartha Hospitality and constructed by Apex Hospitality Limited, offers a wide range of amenities. It features 34 rooms, including deluxe and junior suites, a 150-person capacity hall, and two additional halls with seating for 40 people each. The hotel also provides an all-day dining restaurant, bar, and café under the Siddhartha brand.
Located in Damauli’s main intersection along the Prithvi Highway, the hotel is 150 kilometers west of Kathmandu and 50 kilometers east of Pokhara. It offers underground parking with electric vehicle charging facilities, enhancing convenience for travelers.
Mukunda Timilsina, Chairman of Apex Hospitality Limited, explained that the hotel was constructed in response to Damauli’s growing reputation as a tourist destination. He expects the hotel to attract tourists visiting nearby historical and religious sites such as the meditation grounds of Maharshi Vyas, the sunrise view from Manungkot hill, and the sacred Ghansikuwa linked to poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya.
Timilsina also highlighted the hotel’s role in accommodating local events, including conferences, weddings, and other ceremonies, providing an essential facility for the community.
Krishna Nyaupane, CEO of Siddhartha Group, expressed confidence that the new hotel would contribute to enhancing tourism activities in the region. He emphasized the importance of tourism in driving economic growth and noted that investing in tourism infrastructure like hotels is vital for increasing the sector’s contribution to the national GDP.
Nyaupane further shared that the coffee served across Siddhartha Hospitality outlets is locally produced by the group’s agricultural company Biotika and Nepali farmers. He stressed the group’s commitment to promoting locally sourced food products in the future.
The CEO of Apex Hospitality Limited, Sushil Nyaupane, expressed his happiness at launching the new hotel in collaboration with Siddhartha Hospitality. He mentioned that the hotel also includes two cinema halls under the QFX brand, catering to the entertainment needs of the region.
Janardan Gautam, Chief District Officer of Tanahun, stressed the need for the hotel to offer customer-centric services, noting that it is the largest investment in Damauli to date. He called for the support and cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure the hotel’s success.
Other notable figures at the event, including religious leader Swami Atmananda Giri of Galeshwor Dham and representatives from the Hotel Association of Gandaki Province and the Tanahun Chamber of Commerce, expressed optimism about the hotel’s potential to boost tourism in the area. They emphasized the importance of continued collaboration and support from the community for the hotel’s success.
With the launch of “Siddhartha Hotel Damauli,” Siddhartha Group further strengthens its position as Nepal’s leading hospitality provider, with a network stretching from Birtamod in the east to Mahendranagar in the west, employing over 2,000 people directly across the country.
