Former Secretary Gopi Mainali Highlights Need for Support in Civil Service

Kathmandu: Former Secretary Gopi Mainali has drawn attention to the plight of dedicated civil servants in need of medical care. In a recent statement, Mainali highlighted the case of Sharda Trital, a respected name in Nepal’s civil service known for his integrity, who has been undergoing long-term medical treatment.

Mainali emphasized that both the government and organizations representing civil servants should show concern for such individuals by offering support, goodwill, and paying visits. “Showing care for those who have dedicated their life, energy, and youth to serving the nation would also boost the morale of the civil service,” he wrote.

Earlier, on August 19, Sharda Trital’s son posted a message on Sharda’s Facebook account updating on his health condition.

He wrote: “I have returned home after spending 18 days at HAMS hospital due to GBS (Guillain-Barré Syndrome). Both my hands, legs, and waist are paralyzed due to GBS. According to the doctors, the treatment involves physiotherapy, and it may take at least four months for me to recover fully. Well-wishers can send their wishes via SMS or Messenger.”

The message was posted by his son, Rajat, as per Trital’s request.
