Kathmandu: Annapurna Square Pvt. Ltd. has partnered with ITC Hotels, a renowned name in luxury hospitality from India, to redevelop and manage a new 5-star hotel at the current site of Hotel Annapurna in Durbarmarg. This collaboration is set to transform the legacy hotel into a premier luxury destination, marking a significant development for Nepal’s hospitality sector. The reimagined Annapurna will be managed under ITC Hotels’ esteemed Welcomhotel brand, enhancing its status as one of Kathmandu’s iconic landmarks.
The signing ceremony in Kathmandu showcased ITC Hotels’ commitment to world-class management, sustainability, and hospitality. Annapurna Square Pvt. Ltd. aims to preserve the rich cultural heritage of Hotel Annapurna while setting new benchmarks for luxury hospitality in Nepal. This will be ITC Hotels’ second project in Nepal, adding to their presence with Fortune Resort & Wellness Spa Bhaktapur.
Annapurna Square Pvt. Ltd. will oversee the transformation of Hotel Annapurna into a state-of-the-art mixed-use complex. The new facility will feature luxury accommodations, high-end retail spaces, fine dining, and a large convention center. The 318-room 5-star hotel will also include 30 service apartments, four conference spaces, a shopping arcade, and an entertainment zone, creating a vibrant destination in the heart of Kathmandu.
ITC Hotels will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, branding, and guest experiences, bringing its global expertise in luxury and sustainability. The hotel is slated for completion by April 2028.
Aligned with ITC Hotels’ “Responsible Luxury” philosophy, the new Hotel Annapurna will prioritize eco-friendly practices, from energy-efficient technologies to the use of locally sourced materials. Annapurna Square Pvt. Ltd. has enlisted Morphogenesis, a leading architectural firm from India, to design the project. Known for its innovative and sustainable designs, Morphogenesis aims to blend modern architectural excellence with the cultural heritage of Kathmandu.
