Increased Air Traffic Due to Disasters and Festivals: Minister Pandey

Kathmandu: Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Pandey has attributed the surge in air traffic to the convergence of disasters and festivals. Minister Pandey made these remarks during the 23rd Annual General Assembly of the Nepal Air Traffic Controllers Association, held on Friday at Tribhuvan International Airport.

Minister Pandey highlighted the challenges posed by the increased air traffic, stating, “The convergence of disasters and major festivals has heightened air traffic pressure. We are continuously working on how to address this fairly.” He emphasized that the Ministry is committed to enhancing the convenience of travelers and has been actively working to ensure a smooth experience.

Pandey also discussed ongoing revisions to tourism-related policies, including cultural, tourism, and aviation strategies, with the aim of strengthening regulations. He urged trade unions and organizations to present only factual and truthful information and encouraged them to convey that Nepal’s airspace remains safe.

The Minister also met with transportation officials at Tribhuvan International Airport and took the opportunity to visit the airport’s control tower to observe operations firsthand.
