Nepal Completes Clean Sweep Against USA

Kathmandu: Nepal secured a 3-0 clean sweep in the three-match T20I series against the USA with an emphatic 8-wicket victory in Dallas on Monday morning.

Having already clinched the series 2-0 after the first two games, Nepal sealed the final win to complete the sweep. Nepal won the first match by 17 runs and emerged victorious in the second game via a super over after it ended in a tie.

Nepal will now prepare for its next ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 series, which will feature the USA and Scotland.

In the third match, the USA batted first after winning the toss and set a target of 157 runs, finishing at 156/6. In response, Nepal chased down the target in 18.4 overs, losing just two wickets.

Opener Aasif Sheikh led Nepal’s batting with a 50 off 38 balls, including five fours and two sixes. Kushal Bhurtel contributed 40 runs off 32 balls, while Kushal Malla scored a quickfire 44 from 30 balls. Earlier, opener Anil Shah chipped in with 13 runs. Bhurtel and Malla shared a crucial half-century partnership, anchoring Nepal’s chase to victory.

For the USA, Satyajeet Mukamala was the top scorer with 68 runs off 51 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes. Milind Kumar added 43 runs from 45 deliveries with four boundaries.

Nepal’s Sompal Kami was the standout bowler, picking up three wickets, while Rejan Dhakal and Lalit Rajbanshi took one wicket each. Dipendra Singh Airee, Kushal Malla, Gulshan Jha, and Aarif Sheikh went wicketless.
