Gold and Silver Prices Surge in Nepal amid Festive Season

Kathmandu: Precious metal prices in Nepal have been on an upward trajectory over the first week of Kartik, indicating growing demand and market volatility.

On Kartik 1, gold was priced at Rs. 162,400 per tola and saw steady increases, reaching Rs. 165,900 per tola by Kartik 6. Silver prices also rose, starting at Rs. 1,950 per tola and peaking at Rs. 2,100 per tola over the same period.

The continuous rise in prices is attributed to heightened festive buying and global market trends. Analysts suggest that inflation, international gold demand, and economic uncertainties may further influence the market in the coming days.

Nepal’s gold prices are often influenced by movements in international markets and local festivals like Tihar, which fuel the demand for jewelry and precious metals. With further economic fluctuations expected, both gold and silver may remain volatile in the near future.
