Nepal and China Sign Nine Bilateral Agreements in Beijing

Kathmandu: Nepal and China have signed nine agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation across various sectors. The signing ceremony, held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, was attended by Nepal’s Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and China’s Premier Li Qiang.

The agreements span infrastructure, trade, education, and media, reflecting the deepening ties between the two nations. The nine key agreements are:

Exchange of Letters for the Construction of Tokha-Chhahare Tunnel – A significant infrastructure project to enhance connectivity in Nepal.

Memorandum of Understanding on Trade Promotion – Aimed at boosting bilateral trade between the two countries.

Exchange of Letters on the Completion of Basantapur Nine-Story Palace Reconstruction – Marking the restoration of this historic site.
Protocol for the Export of Processed Buffalo Meat – Opening avenues for Nepal’s meat exports to China.

Memorandum of Understanding on Development Projects – To collaborate on various development initiatives in Nepal.
Memorandum of Understanding on Economic and Technical Cooperation – Strengthening economic and technical ties.

Exchange of Letters on Cash Assistance – Financial aid for agreed-upon projects.
Memorandum of Understanding on Volunteer Chinese Language Teachers – Facilitating language and cultural exchange.
Memorandum of Understanding Between Nepal Television and China Media Group – Enhancing cooperation in media and communication technology.

These agreements signify a robust partnership and mutual commitment to development and cultural exchange. The ceremony concluded with high expectations for future collaboration between the two nations.
