Kathmandu:

The governments of Nepal and China have signed a cooperation framework under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties and promoting regional connectivity.

The agreement was signed on December 4, 2024 (Mangsir 19, 2081), during a formal ceremony attended by high-ranking officials from both countries. This framework aims to enhance collaboration on infrastructure development, trade, and investment, aligning with the shared vision of fostering economic growth and mutual prosperity.

The Belt and Road Initiative, launched by China, seeks to build a global network of trade and infrastructure projects. Nepal’s inclusion in this initiative is expected to facilitate its economic integration into the global market while enhancing connectivity with its northern neighbor.

This agreement underscores the commitment of Nepal and China to advancing strategic partnerships and contributing to regional stability and development.
