Kathmandu: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Debendra Dahal, has assured that challenges in the construction of the Kathmandu-Terai-Madhesh Fast Track will not be allowed to prolong. On Saturday, Minister Dahal inspected the stretch from Khokana to Bungmati and further to Fasidole, which is considered the starting point of the Fast Track, and emphasized addressing the issues and challenges promptly.
“This Fast Track is the lifeline connecting Kathmandu and the Terai,” Minister Dahal said during the inspection. “Although there are some challenges in finalizing its starting point, these issues must not be prolonged. Everyone must seek alternative solutions.”
Minister Dahal reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that road construction and expansion do not undermine anyone’s sentiments. He stressed the importance of protecting religious, cultural, and traditional values while finding solutions to the challenges.
Highlighting the Fast Track’s significance, Minister Dahal stated that it would not only ease public mobility but also boost Nepal’s foreign trade. He underscored the need to resolve issues related to compensation distribution, land acquisition, and disputes over tenancy and trust land to accelerate the construction process.
The minister also expressed high confidence in the Nepal Army, which is responsible for the construction of the Fast Track, praising its commendable contribution to development projects.
During the visit, Major Ramesh Acharya of the Nepal Army briefed Minister Dahal on the current status, challenges, and possible solutions regarding the Fast Track project.
