Kathmandu: The government has decided to remove Kulman Ghising from the position of Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and appoint Hitendra Dev Shakya in his place.
A minister informed that the decision was made during the Cabinet meeting held on Monday.
According to the minister, the government was not satisfied with Ghising’s explanation and performance evaluation, leading to his removal from the post.
Shakya had previously served as the Executive Director of NEA but was removed by the then Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government in July 2021, reinstating Ghising.
Following his dismissal, Shakya had filed a petition at the Supreme Court, challenging the decision. However, the case remained unheard for nearly four years, and he retired last month without receiving a verdict from the court.
