Kathmandu: Foreign Minister NP Saud revealed on Tuesday that families of 115 individuals who joined the Russian army have applied for rescue. Speaking at an event in Kanchanpur, he shared that the families of those who enlisted in the Russian army and reached Russia have submitted applications to the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Saud stated, “Until now, applications for the rescue of 115 people have been received from their families at the consular department.” He mentioned that the Russian government confirmed the death of 10 individuals, and the Nepali government has requested the return of those admitted to the army, arrangements for paying homage to the deceased, and supporting their families.
He clarified that the government has no policy of sending individuals to Russia for any work or to join the army.
