Kathmandu: A two-day taxpayer educational clinic held at the New Baneshwar Center (NB Center) proved successful in addressing the concerns of 83 local taxpayers engaged in various businesses. Conducted on the 27th and 28th of Paush 2080, the clinic introduced innovative methods to immediately resolve tax-related issues.
Participants lauded the taxpayer-friendly approach, emphasizing the importance of educating taxpayers on invoicing procedures, maintaining transaction records, and adhering to tax regulations. The event witnessed active involvement from office bearers of the working committee and Nabin Luitel, the president of the New Baneshwor Business Association.
Chief Tax Officer Gobinda Raj Acharya, alongside Tax Officers and non-gazetted 1st class (Nayab Subba), personally engaged with each taxpayer to understand their challenges and facilitate prompt solutions. The clinic also served as a platform for collecting valuable suggestions and feedback from participants.
To reinforce the importance of tax compliance, a message sticker advocating the mandatory issuance of bills was affixed at the business premises of all participating taxpayers. Chief Tax Officer Gobinda Raj Acharya expressed confidence in the clinic’s effectiveness and hinted at similar campaigns in other areas in the near future.
Under the jurisdiction of the Inland Revenue Office New Baneshwar, the clinic’s impact extended beyond the business community, with an appeal to general customers and consumers to adopt the practice of giving and receiving bills as a standard. This initiative aims to contribute to the nationwide expansion of the tax base by fostering a culture of strengthened billing practices.
