Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Poudel has expressed his concern over the delayed implementation of the constitution, emphasizing the need for immediate legislative action by the political parties present in the federal parliament. Addressing leaders of all political parties representing in the Federal Parliament during a New Year celebration at Shital Niwas, the President called for their commitment to realizing the aspirations of the Nepali people through the effective execution of the constitution.
President Poudel stated, “The constitution has endowed the marginalized, neglected, and backward communities with comprehensive rights. The international community has also praised our constitution for empowering the underprivileged. However, its practical implementation is still pending. Let’s create laws promptly to address the disappointments among the people. Implementation of the constitution will transform their dissatisfaction into hope.”
Highlighting the urgency, President Poudel urged all political leaders to legislate promptly for the constitution’s swift implementation. He remarked, “I have understood the desires of the Nepali people. They do not want to lag behind. Their desires need to move forward. Therefore, I appeal to all of you to fulfill the people’s aspiration by swiftly realizing the inclusive federal democratic republic.”
President Poudel also extended his wishes on the occasion of Maghi festival, emphasizing its significance in representing the Tharu and Magar communities and symbolizing seasonal changes. The program was attended by the Vice President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the National Assembly, Vice-Chairpersons of the National Assembly, leaders of parliamentary parties, and independent members of parliament. The Prime Minister, who was out of Kathmandu, conveyed his best wishes for the event.
