Parliament’s Third Session Set to Begin Today

Kathmandu: The third session of the Federal Parliament is set to commence today. In the meeting scheduled for today, the Speaker is expected to reveal the proposed agenda, having read aloud the invitation letter for the session received from the President.

Both houses of the Parliament, the House of Representatives, and the National Assembly, will convene at 4 PM. The Parliamentary Secretariat has informed that the necessary technical and physical arrangements for both meetings have been completed.

Additionally, during the session, the Speaker will announce the responsibilities received from the President’s office, as per the letter, and read aloud the letters related to duties delegated from the Prime Minister’s and Cabinet’s offices.

In the meeting, the Speaker is likely to propose an agenda for the endorsement of the elected members as per Rule 10 of the Parliamentary Regulations, 2079 BS.

The session will also table bills related to the formation of the Electric Trade Act, 2080 BS, and the National Boundary-related Bill, along with the Bill received from the National Assembly on the 2079 BS National Assembly message.

Furthermore, Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat will present the Economic Procedure and Fiscal Responsibility (First Amendment) Bill, 2080 BS.

In addition, Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Dhani Raj Gurung, will present in the Parliament an order to pass the Contempt of Court, Truth and Reconciliation, and Disappearance Commission Act, 2071 BS, as per the clause 42 provisions of the 2071 BS Purification Order.
