Narayangadh-Muglin Road Section Resumes Regular Operations

Kathmandu: The road section from Narayangadh to Muglin has resumed regular operations from today. The information was shared by the Road Division Bharatpur, indicating that the transportation has been regularized along with the completion of the rock-cutting work for the construction of the Tuin Khola Bridge.

The Nagdhunga-Muglin Road Project (Western Section) will remain open 24 hours a day, according to information provided by Information Officer Krishna Prasad Acharya.

The construction work, which involved cutting through hills for the Tuin Khola Bridge, had caused the road to be closed daily from 12 PM to 4 PM since last year. The cutting work for a 60-meter high hill had been halted from Push to Falgun last year, with a daily closure of the road for four hours.

Engineer Vijay Darai, in charge of the 60-meter long bridge construction in Tuin Khola, provided details about the ongoing project. Four out of the 19 bridges on this road section were constructed four years ago, and the remaining 15 bridges were contracted simultaneously. As of now, eight bridges have been completed and are allowing vehicular movement.

Darai mentioned challenges faced during the construction of the Tuin Khola Bridge due to tough rock formations. The construction of the bridge started on Chait 10, 2076 BS, and its cost is estimated at NPR 1.28 billion. The road section, spanning from nine to eleven meters in width, serves as a crucial connection between the Terai region and the capital, facilitating daily transportation for thousands of commuters.
