Kathmandu: In a collaborative effort, the four-party coalition, comprising Nepal Communist Party (NCP) – Unified Marxist-Leninist (UML), Maoist Center, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), and Janata Samajbadi Party, has finalized the allocation of several ministries.
Negotiations among the parties resulted in the decision to assign 9 ministries to NCP UML, 5 to Maoist Center, 4 to RPP, and 2 to Janata Samajbadi Party. This consensus reflects the wisdom of the leaders in ensuring a balanced distribution of responsibilities.
Within the cabinet, Raghuvir Mahaseth, the leader of NCP UML, will serve as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure. Meanwhile, Narayan Kaji Shrestha from the Maoist Center will assume the role of Minister of Foreign Affairs, and
Barshaman Pun will take on the position of Minister of Finance.
Rastriya Swatantra Party secures four ministries, with discussions during today’s meeting highlighting a tussle over the allocation of ministries, particularly regarding the Home Affairs, Labor, Youth and Sports, and Education portfolios.
