Kathmandu: In a recent development, the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) (Unified Marxist-Leninist) has announced changes in its ministerial lineup. Raghuvir Mahaseth, previously serving as the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation, is set to lead the government as the Secretary.
Mahaseth, elected from Dhanusa constituency number 4, had previously held the position of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation during K.P. Sharma Oli’s second tenure as Prime Minister. Now, in his second stint, Mahaseth will take on the role of Secretary.
Similarly, Jwala Kumar Sah, who was previously a minister in the NCP Maoist Center-led coalition, is also set for a ministerial position. Sah, who became a minister during the alliance between NCP and Maoist Center on Poush 10, served as the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development at that time.
Rajendra Kumar Rai, elected from Dhankuta, is another addition to the cabinet. He was elected as a Member of Parliament from Dhankuta, and after the coalition formation on Poush 10, he assumed the role of Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies.
Furthermore, Balaram Adhikari, who represents Kapilvastu constituency number 1, and Damodar Bhandari, a Member of Parliament from Baitadi, have also been named as ministers. Adhikari has been elected for the second time and will be serving as a minister for the first time, while Bhandari has previously served as the Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies in the coalition formed on Poush 10.
Padam Giri, who was also sworn in on Monday, previously served as the Minister of Health and Population in the government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. These changes come as part of the ongoing reshuffle within the government.
