Kathmandu: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is gearing up for a new round of leadership selection, with the presentation of professional work plans and interviews scheduled for September 1 and 2, 2024 (Bhadra 17-18, 2081 BS), at the NTB Central Office in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
Among the shortlisted candidates are former CEO Deepak Raj Joshi and outgoing CEO Dhananjay Regmi, both of whom are vying for the top position once again. Their inclusion in the shortlist signals a potentially competitive selection process, as both have extensive experience leading the NTB during different phases of Nepal’s tourism development.
The process was previously postponed due to a court order, but it has now been rescheduled. The professional work plan presentations will take place on September 1, 2024, with each candidate allotted 20 minutes for their presentation and Q&A session. The interviews will follow on September 2, 2024.
A total of 16 candidates have been shortlisted for the final round, including several prominent figures in the tourism sector. The NTB has notified all candidates to bring original documents verifying their educational qualifications and work experience to the interview.
The upcoming selection process is expected to draw significant attention, given the crucial role of the NTB in promoting and managing Nepal’s tourism sector, particularly as the country continues to recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
