Congress Leader Purna Bahadur Tamang’s Company Issued Warning for Delayed Construction Work

Kathmandu: Kanchharam Construction Pvt. Ltd., owned by Congress leader Purna Bahadur Tamang, has been issued a seven-day warning by the Infrastructure Development Office, Morang, for failing to complete two road construction projects. The company has been repeatedly reminded to speed up work, including a 15-day notice earlier this month, but has yet to make satisfactory progress.

Purna Bahadur Tamang, who lost the House of Representatives election from Ramechhap, owns Kanchharam Construction. The company had secured contracts for the “Baviya Mitam to Sunwarsi Road” and the “Ring Road West to Agriculture Market Road” in Morang. Despite the importance of these projects, the company has not advanced the work as required.

In its latest warning, the Infrastructure Development Office has asked the company to submit an updated work schedule and a reliable plan for completing the work, along with a commitment to start the work immediately. If Kanchharam Construction fails to respond or show progress within seven days, the office has warned of legal action, which could include contract termination, blacklisting, and the forfeiture of performance guarantees.

The repeated delays have caused concerns over the company’s performance, raising questions about the management and accountability of contractors with political ties.
