Prime Minister to Discuss with Special Investigation Committee on Cooperatives

Kathmandu: Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with the Special Investigation Committee of Parliament today to discuss ongoing investigations related to the cooperative sector. The meeting, which is crucial for addressing concerns within the cooperative industry, will be held at 4:00 PM at the Parliament Secretariat (House No. 2, Room No. 313) in Singha Durbar.

This high-level discussion follows growing concerns about irregularities and mismanagement within Nepal’s cooperative sector, which has a significant impact on the economy and the livelihoods of many citizens. The investigation aims to bring transparency and accountability, reflecting the government’s commitment to reform and oversight in the sector.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Lemon Tree Premier Hotel in Budhanilkantha at 10:30 AM. At 11:00 AM, he will attend a national workshop organized by the Nepal Communist Party (UML) on the topic of local-level coordination in public relations, which will also take place at the Lemon Tree Premier Hotel.

At 1:00 PM, the Prime Minister will participate in the 19th Annual General Assembly of the Jyapu Society Cooperative in Yalakhu Durbar, Mangalbazaar, Lalitpur. Here, key issues regarding cooperative governance and the future of the sector are expected to be discussed.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will attend the National Child Rights Day program at 3:00 PM, organized by the National Child Organization, to be held at the Old Secretariat in Baluwatar.

The day’s events underline the Prime Minister’s focus on economic, social, and governance issues, particularly in addressing pressing concerns within Nepal’s cooperative sector.
