NEPSE Index Drops by 1.88%, Closing at 2,637.79

Kathmandu: The NEPSE Index experienced a sharp decline today, dropping by 50.73 points, or 1.88%, to close at 2,637.79. The market saw a total turnover of Rs 10.34 billion, with 24.85 million shares traded through 119,739 transactions, involving 324 different scrips. This significant turnover suggests active trading despite the overall negative trend.

Amidst the decline, several companies stood out as top gainers. RFPL led the market with a 10% rise, closing at Rs 544.60 after a 49.50-point increase. Similarly, HHL and RAWA saw gains of 10%, reaching Rs 467.50 and Rs 726.00, respectively. EHPL and TPC also performed well, with EHPL gaining 9.99% to reach Rs 821.50 and TPC increasing by 8.83% to close at Rs 467.00.

In terms of turnover, CHDC dominated the day with Rs 643.87 million, followed by NRN with Rs 352.88 million and HRL with Rs 283.03 million. API and SHEL also saw significant turnovers of Rs 254.36 million and Rs 244.16 million, respectively. The market’s total capitalization stood at Rs 4.19 trillion, while the float market capitalization was Rs 1.47 trillion, underscoring the scale of investor activity in the market despite its downward trajectory.
