Subhechha Khadka’s Artistic Journey: From Modeling to Movies

Kathmandu: Subhechha Khadka, a beauty pageant winner, made her debut in Nepali cinema through the film industry. Last year, she took the lead role in the movie Chitra, marking her entry into Nepali films.

Whether on the ramp, in beauty pageants, or acting on screen, Subhechha has proven her excellence in every artistic field she has ventured into.

Born on February 7, 1994, in Kathmandu, Subhechha entered the world of art through beauty pageants. Her first participation was in Miss E-College 2011, where she reached the top 5 and won two sub-titles.

Although many believed she deserved to win the competition, she did not secure the title. Reflecting on that moment, Subhechha says, “I had expectations, but I accepted that it wasn’t in my destiny. That competition taught me a lot, and I became determined to do even more.”

The following year, she participated in Miss Nepal 2012, one of Nepal’s most prestigious beauty pageants, where she achieved great success by winning the title Miss Nepal International 2012. This victory not only marked her achievement but also opened doors to other opportunities in various fields, including art and entertainment.

Since childhood, Subhechha was drawn to beauty pageants, watching international competitions like Miss Universe and Miss World on television. “I was fascinated and inspired by those competitions. I even dreamed of winning one someday,” she recalls.

After completing her Plus Two in 2012, Subhechha felt the urge to participate in Miss Nepal, with her family’s support. She saw Miss Nepal as the best platform to pursue a career in modeling, which led her to participate in the competition.

Over the years, she has participated in several beauty pageants, including Miss E-College 2011, Miss Nepal 2012, Miss International 2012 (Japan), and World Miss University 2017 (Cambodia), gaining both national and international recognition.

Having been in the modeling industry for 12 years, Subhechha has worked with numerous prestigious brands, serving as a brand ambassador for companies such as Magic Footwear, Glam and Glory Hair Removal Cream, Miniso, Wellbell, Tranquility Spa, and Option Consultancy.

For Subhechha, modeling is her passion. It has shaped her desires and made her life exciting, providing her opportunities to speak confidently, act in front of the camera, and collaborate with various brands. Most importantly, it has given her an identity.

Her success in modeling eventually led to offers from the film industry. After winning Miss Nepal International, Subhechha received numerous movie offers, but initially, she hesitated. While she didn’t immediately step into films, she closely observed the industry.

However, when director Govinda Singh Bhandari approached her with an offer, she couldn’t resist the opportunity. She accepted the role in Ranveer, her debut movie. Since then, she has acted in films like Ranveer and Chitra, but she hasn’t forgotten her modeling roots and plans to continue her modeling career.

“I’m working on films, and audiences will soon see me on the big screen again. I’m also in touch with agencies abroad, which are offering me many opportunities,” Subhechha shares. “I will continue working in both films and modeling, as they have become a part of my identity.”
