Minister Dahal Conducts Surprise Inspection of Transport Management Office

Kathmandu: Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, carried out a surprise inspection of the Department of Transport Management on Tuesday afternoon. The minister, accompanied by Secretary Keshav Kumar Sharma, visited the department’s office located in Minbhawan to assess service delivery and meet with service seekers.

During the visit, Minister Dahal interacted with citizens to gather feedback on the department’s services. Many service seekers requested the creation of a more efficient and streamlined service environment. In response, the minister instructed the department to implement token-based systems to eliminate long queues and ensure smooth service delivery.

Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, carried out a surprise inspection of the Department of Transport Management on Tuesday afternoon. The minister, accompanied by Secretary Keshav Kumar Sharma, visited the department’s office located in Minbhawan to assess service delivery and meet with service seekers.

During the visit, Minister Dahal interacted with citizens to gather feedback on the department’s services. Many service seekers requested the creation of a more efficient and streamlined service environment. In response, the minister instructed the department to implement token-based systems to eliminate long queues and ensure smooth service delivery.

The inspection also focused on the progress of digital driving license printing and the installation of embossed number plates. Director General Rajiv Pokharel informed the minister that the department is currently printing 4,000 digital driving licenses per day, with printing capacity enhanced by initiating operations at provincial levels. He assured that efforts have been made to make the process more efficient and regular.

Pokharel further reported that the installation of embossed number plates will be accelerated and better managed, while electronic vehicle registration systems will soon be implemented across the country. Additionally, the department is conducting studies to introduce new routes on emerging roads, ensuring improved transport connectivity.

This surprise inspection reflects Minister Dahal’s commitment to enhancing service delivery and modernizing Nepal’s transportation sector.
