Kathmandu:
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to embark on a four-day official visit to China starting Monday, December 2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the itinerary on Friday, following approval by the Cabinet on Thursday.
According to the ministry, Prime Minister Oli will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping for high-level talks on Tuesday. He will also hold formal discussions with Chinese Premier Li Qiang over a state luncheon on the same day. Additionally, agreements to implement previously announced Nepal-China projects will be signed during the visit.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to meet Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China. On Wednesday, he will attend a Nepal-China business summit, deliver a speech at Peking University, and participate in a program hosted by the Nepalese Embassy in Beijing.
Prime Minister Oli will travel to Beijing on a chartered Himalayan Airlines flight on Monday.
The Cabinet has approved a 32-member delegation accompanying the Prime Minister, including First Lady Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor Bishnu Rimal, Economic Advisor Yubaraj Khatiwada, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, Acting Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, Finance Secretary Ram Prasad Ghimire, and Investment Board CEO Sushil Gyawali. Key lawmakers from major parties, security personnel, and secretariat staff are also part of the delegation.
Additionally, around three dozen business leaders and industrialists will join the delegation at their own expense.
