Kathmandu:

Citizens Investment Trust (CIT) has made a groundbreaking move to offer housing and easy loan services directly through its branch offices, significantly easing the loan process for its participants.

The new system allows participants to secure loans up to a specified amount without requiring approval from the central office. This is expected to enhance accessibility, particularly for individuals residing outside the Kathmandu Valley. Previously, all loan-related documents had to be routed to the central office, creating delays in the process.

According to CIT, this change aims to provide seamless services and address participants’ financial needs efficiently. The trust anticipates that the new setup will result in faster processing times and increased convenience for its participants.

In a further boost to participants, CIT has also increased the borrowing limit for savings-backed loans. Participants can now take loans up to 90% of their deposited savings, compared to the previous limit of 80%.
