Kathmandu: Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Pandey has expressed the government’s commitment to developing formal guidelines for honoring creators and their contributions.

Speaking at the book launch ceremony of “Gopal Yonzon” on Saturday, Minister Pandey emphasized the immeasurable contribution of the late musician Gopal Yonzon to Nepal’s music industry. “His compositions remain just as popular today as they were before. I express my gratitude to his family for taking the initiative that the state should have undertaken,” he said.

Highlighting the role of institutions under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, including Nepal Academy, Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, and Nepal Academy of Music and Drama, Minister Pandey reaffirmed the government’s commitment to establishing a systematic framework to honor creators and their legacies.

He also praised the book, written collaboratively by 108 authors, calling it a significant contribution to preserving Yonzon’s legacy. Additionally, he stressed the importance of coordinating efforts among all three levels of government to ensure Yonzon’s contributions are remembered and celebrated.
