Wai Wai’s First Historic Factory Relocated to CG Industrial Park

Kathmandu: Nepal’s most popular instant noodle brand, Wai Wai, has relocated its first production facility. The historic factory, which had been operating in Bhaisepati, Lalitpur, for four decades, has now been moved to CG Industrial Park (CGIP) in Nawalparasi. According to Wai Wai’s CEO, Pradeep Pudasaini, the entire relocation process was carried out with mutual understanding and written agreements among workers and other stakeholders.

Established in 1984, the Bhaisepati Wai Wai factory was one of Nepal’s key instant noodle production centers. At the time of its establishment, Bhaisepati was an open area suitable for industrial activities. “Over the years, the area transformed into a densely populated residential zone, making it increasingly difficult to continue industrial production. This led us to the decision to relocate this historic factory,” Pudasaini stated.

Additionally, concerns had been raised by local residents and social groups regarding environmental pollution, noise pollution, and the impact of industrial activities. Taking these concerns seriously and reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability, Wai Wai management decided to proceed with the relocation.

To ensure a smooth transition for employees, the company introduced a special incentive package. Furthermore, interested workers were given opportunities to transfer to Wai Wai’s other plants and offices outside Kathmandu. According to the management, this process will help strengthen the company’s work environment. “The factory was relocated only after proper employee management and a written agreement,” Pudasaini emphasized.

The newly relocated factory in Nawalparasi has been upgraded with advanced production technology. Chaudhary Group is investing further in technology not only to enhance its presence in Nepal but also to strengthen its competitiveness in international markets.

The company believes this relocation will help expand the Wai Wai brand, increase production capacity, and improve product quality. As one of Nepal’s most successful FMCG brands, Wai Wai aims to further strengthen its position in global markets with this strategic move.
