Kathmandu: The much-anticipated Nepali film ‘Varistha Balaram’ has officially announced its release date. Marking the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, the production team unveiled the title teaser on Wednesday night, confirming that the film will hit theaters on November 1, 2024 (Kartik 3, 2081), coinciding with Laxmi Puja during Tihar.
Directed by Surendra Poudel, the film features a talented ensemble cast, including Dayahang Rai, Vijay Baral, Pashupati Rai, Samriddhi Aryal, and Maotse Gurung. Poudel, a renowned editor in the Nepali film industry, is making his fourth directorial venture with this project. The film is produced by Ashish H. Tamang and Shriraj Karki.
The screenplay is written by Mahesh Dawadi, based on a story and edited by Surendra Poudel himself. The team is set to begin shooting within a week, with various locations across the Terai region serving as the backdrop for the film. Man Krishna Maharjan will be handling the cinematography.
Other key members of the crew include Taranath Nyaupane as the chief assistant director, Prashant Shivakoti as the music composer, Samrat Shakya overseeing action direction, and Pradeep Lama handling choreography.
Produced under the Vrishabh Siddhi Entertainment banner, Varistha Balaram is described as a social drama with a strong message-driven yet entertaining narrative. The filmmakers aim to deliver a compelling story that resonates with audiences while providing wholesome entertainment.
