Kathmandu: In the wake of failed negotiations with Nepali Congress Party Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba, the Shekhar Koirala-Gagan Thapa group has convened a crucial meeting of their party leaders. The gathering is currently underway at Shekhar Koirala’s liaison office in Baluwatar.
The crux of the discord lies in the allocation of seats within the party. While some members are advocating for a distribution of four out of the ten seats allotted to the Congress, Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba remains resistant to this proposal.
The impasse has prompted internal discussions within the faction, seeking resolutions to the growing disagreement. The outcome of this meeting is anticipated to shed light on the direction the party will take in navigating this internal challenge.
