Kathmandu: The film Mayavi, directed by Diwakar Bhattarai, has officially secured its release date. The film is set to hit theaters on November 1, 2024, coinciding with the Tihar festival.
Director Bhattarai announced that the decision to release Mayavi during the Tihar holidays was made to capitalize on the festive season.
The film stars Pal Shah and Deepika Prasai in the lead roles. Having already established himself in the romance genre, Bhattarai regards Mayavi as his “dream project.”
Alongside Pal and Deepika, the film features performances by Sushil Sitoula, Samim Khan, Karishma Shrestha, Prashant Tamrakar, Laxmi Giri, Ravi Dangol, Rajaram Poudel, Anshu Maharjan, and Rama Prasai, among others. Notably, Samim Khan makes his acting debut in this film.
Mayavi is produced by Raj Katuwal, Chandra Pant, and Dhruva Prasad Neupane, with Praveen Bhattarai and Karan Singh serving as executive producers. The co-producers are Raju Parajuli, Rama Prasai, and Sumit Oli.
The film, presented by Creative Cine Arts, boasts Raju Thapa as the DOP, with music by SD Yogi and lyrics by Ram Aviral. The story, written by Director Bhattarai himself, is set against the backdrop of Pokhara.
In an interesting development, another film, Actor, starring Pradeep Khadka, is also slated for release on the same day during Laxmi Puja. With both films featuring well-known stars, the box office clash during Tihar promises to be as exciting as the one during Dashain.
