Suspension Bridge in Sindhuli Restored, Minister Dahal Honors Contributors

Kathmandu: Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Devendra Dahal has honored the technicians and Nepal Army personnel involved in the swift reconstruction of the Bailey bridge over the Sunkoshi River, which connects Sindhuli and Ramechhap districts.

The bridge, which was damaged by floods on 12th Asoj, was rebuilt promptly, restoring vehicular movement and facilitating transportation. During an inspection on Tuesday of the BP Highway connecting Sindhuli and Ramechhap, Minister Dahal expressed gratitude to all parties who contributed to resuming transportation services after the disruption caused by the disaster.

A team led by Ramhari Pokharel, Director General of the Department of Roads, along with Subhraj Neupane, Head of the Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office in Kathmandu, and Lilajan Khanal, Chief of the Bridge Division, conducted the inspection.

The visit also saw the participation of Purna Bahadur Tamang, Minister of State for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, along with local representatives, political leaders, and government officials, who welcomed Minister Dahal.

Following reconstruction, the bridge underwent a load-bearing capacity test, after which it was reopened for passenger vehicles, marking the resumption of smooth transportation in the region.
