Kathmandu: The NEPSE Index closed at 2,692.05 points today, recording an increase of 46.69 points or 1.76%. The market saw robust activity with a total turnover of NPR 6.12 billion, as 13.37 million shares changed hands across listed companies in 68,614 transactions.
Out of the traded stocks, 221 companies advanced, while only 17 declined and five remained unchanged. The bullish trend was evident in the top gainers list, which included several stocks reaching their maximum allowable price limit:
- Saptakoshi Development Bank (SAPDBL) : Up by 10% to NPR 627
- Sanima General Insurance (SGIC): Up by 10% to NPR 709.5
- Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower Limited (KBSH): Up by 10% to NPR 2,590.5
- Corporate Development Bank (CORBL): Up by 9.98% to NPR 999.5
- Samaj Laghubitta (SAMAJ): Up by 9.18% to NPR 3,629
The day also witnessed significant turnover in specific stocks, with Samriddhi Finance Company Limited (SFCL) leading the chart with NPR 247.1 million in transactions. Other notable companies with high turnovers included Peoples Hydropower Company (PHCL) and Saptakoshi Development Bank (SAPDBL).
The overall market sentiment remained positive, driven by strong buying interest, reflected in the increase in total market capitalization to NPR 4.28 trillion. The positive momentum is expected to continue if investor confidence remains steady, signaling opportunities for further gains in the upcoming sessions.
