Kathmandu: An agreement has been reached between Ruby Khan, the activist protesting since July 25, 2024 (2081 Shrawan 25), and representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the complaint related to the abduction, illegal detention, and murder of Nirmala Kurmi. The details of the agreement are as follows:

Investigation Progress:
As per Clause 1 of the agreement, the Ministry of Home Affairs will immediately direct the District Police Office, Banke through the Nepal Police Headquarters to expedite the investigation into the complaint regarding Nirmala Kurmi’s abduction, detention, and death. Additionally, police officers involved in previous investigations will be deployed as needed by the Police Headquarters to assist in further inquiries.
Security Arrangements:
The Ministry will instruct both the Nepal Police Headquarters and the District Administration Office, Banke, to ensure the safety and security of Ruby Khan, her family, and supporters.
End of Protest:
With the agreement reached, the protesting side will call off their protest starting from today.
