Janakpurdham: The Dhanusha branch office of Salt Trading Corporation Limited reported sales of iodized salt worth NPR 186.28 million during the fiscal year 2080/81. The office, which operates in the Dhanusha, Mahottari, and Sindhuli districts, sold the salt through its network of 25 dealers.

In the first three months of the current fiscal year—Shrawan, Bhadra, and Ashwin—the branch sold salt valued at NPR 52.3 million, amounting to 45,370 sacks. The office has also launched subsidized fair-price shops aimed at the Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath festivals to provide salt at discounted rates.

According to Branch Chief Shubhanarayan Sah, these fair-price shops, operational from September 23 to November 14, have sold 5,600 packets of salt, generating NPR 261,000 in revenue. The subsidized salt is sold at NPR 24 per packet through the fair-price shops, while it is priced at NPR 26 per packet through direct dealers.

Additionally, Chief Sah mentioned that the Dhanusha office is also engaged in the distribution of chemical fertilizers.
