Kathmandu: The winter session of the Federal Parliament is set to commence today at 1 PM. This session, also known as the legislative session, primarily focuses on bill discussions and legislative procedures.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, today’s House of Representatives meeting will include statements from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and other top political leaders.
As per the tentative agenda, Speaker Devraj Ghimire will nominate members to preside over the House meetings in accordance with Rule 10 of the House of Representatives Rules, 2079.
Prime Minister Oli will present the “Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Related to Good Governance Promotion and Public Service Delivery, 2081” before the House.
Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will table three ordinances:
“First Amendment to the Financial Procedure and Fiscal Responsibility Ordinance, 2081”
“First Amendment to the Privatization Ordinance, 2081”
“Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Related to Economic and Business Environment Improvement and Investment Promotion, 2081”
Likewise, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation Balram Acharya will introduce the “Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Related to Cooperatives, 2081” and the “Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Related to Land, 2081.”
The National Assembly meeting will also see the presentation of ordinances, including the one on good governance promotion and public service delivery.
Furthermore, Chairperson of the Legislation Management Committee, Tulsakumari Dahal, will submit reports on the “Media Council Bill, 2080” and the “Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Bill, 2081.”
This session is expected to focus on key legislative matters, including governance, economic reforms, and investment climate enhancement.
