Kathmandu: Former Minister Ramkumari Jhakri has expressed her enthusiastic approval of the film Actor: Take One, describing it as “mysterious and entertaining” while commending its overall excellence. After viewing the movie, Jhakri remarked, “I may not have seen a better film,” and extended her congratulations to filmmaker Pradip Khadka and debut actress Divya Rayamajhi. “I am a staunch advocate for the promotion of Nepali cinema. Congratulations to Pradip Khadka and to Divya, daughter of Dilipji, our dear friend,” she added.
Jhakri also welcomed actor Rajballabh Koirala back to the screen and congratulated all the artists, directors, and producers involved. Addressing issues related to the film’s release, she noted, “There should have been no controversy – though it happened, it is not a major issue. The film has now taken off and will run even stronger. I urge the audience to help make this film a success.”
Emphasizing the importance of preemptively resolving any issues before the film is granted a censor certificate, she stated, “All matters must be addressed before obtaining the censor certificate. This should have been managed in the same way for this film. Even the film’s title was not perfectly aligned. Our courts are proactive as well.” Jhakri reiterated that the censor board should serve as the final authority for films, adding that activities creating unnecessary complications over minor discrepancies in titles or other details are unhelpful.
In related remarks, actor Rajballabh Koirala highlighted the significance of supporting good filmmakers, asserting that protecting creative talent will ultimately benefit Nepali cinema.
