
KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Thursday at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.
During the meeting, Ambassador Srivastava briefed Prime Minister Oli on the recent terrorist attack that occurred in Pahalgam, India, on April 22, and the resulting tensions between India and Pakistan. He clarified that while India had responded to the attack, reports suggesting a jet strike were inaccurate and misleading.
According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Ambassador Srivastava also expressed gratitude for the official statement issued by the Government of Nepal on Thursday regarding the incident.
In response, Prime Minister Oli condemned the terrorist attack, reaffirming Nepal’s firm stance against all forms of terrorism. He emphasized that Nepal remains committed to global peace and made it clear that Nepal will not allow any armed group to use its territory against neighboring countries.
